CAP just take a chill pill, your post sounds ****ed. Remember you are stating a personal opinion and not facts. Me thinks yee protests too much.

Opinions do vary and we all have one! ;) Sorry for yours being infringed upon. What was so ****ed about it was it doesn't agree with yours.

I attended a concert at the Musikverein once; it was truly awesome. We got seats at the very last minute, and they were not the best, but the sound was amazing. Wish I could afford to do it again.

Man Bernard , That would have been AWESOME. I love LIVE classical music. The whole aura of it and its true sonic character. Its amazing to hit 100+db with no amplification.

I would love to go to CAP's house to cast my ears on his system.

Any time your in town , You are welcome with a first class seat dead center between the CLS .:music:.

Do the LIAR test and its that simple. The LIAR test is Listening In Another Room. Put a live band in any room and listen in another room and try and duplicate that with a system in the same room as the band, you wont even come close !

This is going to get me so ridiculed ...The first time I was fooled into thinking there was a band in another room was when I heard BOSE 901'S  being played at volume in another room. It was so cool, I bought them. This was back in '73 or '74. Ok, flame suit on.

Chris, The concert was called "Spring in Vienna", and was on an Easter Sunday many years ago. The Vienna Philharmonic was out on tour, so I had to "settle" for the Vienna Symphony Orchestra. They played a selection of light operetta - not my favourite, but I would have gone to hear them play "Baa Baa Black Sheep". Definitiely was an experience not to be forgotten.

While there I looked at the billboard on coming attractions - I could only dream of some of those artists coming here, even though we do have some top flight musicians that perform in Ottawa.

If you like LIVE classical you should try to get to a performance of "Carmina Burana". As risabet has stated in another thread, it it amazing live. I have heard 3 performances of it, and they have all been exceptional.
