WB, you got me in the mood-this AM its the 5.1 SACD of Moody Blues-The Lost Chord. Legend of a mind sounds spookily real.

Tony,
Didn't know you were a Moody Blues fan.
Just ordered In Search Of The Lost Chord 5.1 SACD after reading your post.
Orderd Seventh Sojourn 5.1 SACD after listening to Threshold last week
should get sometime early next week, I'll let you know what I think after
giving it a listen.

Trust you guys have the DVD "Moody Blues Hall of Fame" live from The Royal Albert Hall. 5/1/2000

Anyway listening to Tchaikovsky this morning while enjoying the miserable 'Nor'easter' outside......uck !!

I am also a HUGE Doors fan! My DVDA of LA Woman always sends my cats scurrying for cover when I play Riders on the Storm. Unfortunately my Ayre became psychotic last week and had to be sent to Boulder for TLC, so I pressed my trusty Lexicon RT-10 into service in the big rig which means no SACD or DVDA surround until it gets repaired. Big bummer! I can't wait for the impending SACD Genesis releases!

Ruben Gonzalez / Chancullo
Remedios / Vendeval
Bobby Hutcherson / Stick-up!
Thelonius Monk / Monk in France

Scott, great to hear you're enjoying Porcupine tree.

Cherian and others who like Vas, DCD, Lisa Gerrard, Delirium, etc., I've been enjoying this new one this weekend:

Mysteria - Tempting the Muse

Not quite the sophistication of Lisa or the creativity of some of the Delirium tracks, but very nice nonetheless.

Oh, and thanks for the recomendation of the Azam Ali album. It's in the shopping cart. Man, this thread is costing us money...

The Moody Blues~On The Threshold Of A Dream~ On Hybrid SACD IN 5.1 Surround

Robin and Burke I know your both Moody Blues fans with surround systems.
I highly reccommend you purchase this Hybrid SACD. Though not my favorite
Moody CD, my 3rd Favorite, after Days of the Future Past, and Seventh
Sojourn. This is the first 5.1 surround recording I've found of them I completely enjoy. I got it on Tuesday and listened to it twice back to back. I wouldn't have mixed it any differently myself.

Done, I also picked up 'Question of Balance' on SACD while I was there. These are all the third copies of these Vinyl, CD, and now SACD. I should be listening to these next Sunday.

Don't have that one, But funny thing about Dvd concerts, I have plenty but rarely do I ever watch them a second time. Kinda odd, Because I've got albums in my collection I'm sure I've listened to over 100 times. Anyone else out there like me, or am I just odd.

Yes it is, but it's money well spent. I haven't discovered this much new music since my early 20's. I'm like a herion addict looking for his next fix,
Only my drug of choice is music.

I know you'll enjoy it, Have to let me know about Question of Balance

Jackson Browne ~ Lives In The Balance

Haven't listen to this album in quite some time forgot how good it was. Only throw away track IMHO is "Candy" and think it was actually a hit I just don't care for it.

Lyrics on the Title Track seem so relevent in the time we're living in now.
I believe the album came out in the mid 80's, not sure which war he was writing about then, but the lyrics really hit home now.

Odd.....maybe, but we can cure you this June in Lawrence, Ks during our ****tail hour get-together, a couple of martinis and you just might think you're Pinder playing the flute !!

Genesis - in full 5.1 high-rez glory

This morning my wife hands me a UPS package that had been sitting outside for two days and guess what's inside? The first 5 installments of the Genesis catalog reissue in full 5.1 glory on SACD high-rez discs.

Just finished listening to Trick of the Tail and Wind and Wuthering. Man what an emotional and aural pleasure this has been.

If you are a fan, run don't walk to your computer to order these.

A full thread is posted in the Rock section of the recommended recordings forum. Join me for further discusion over there.

Took your advice on this one and picked it up today. It will be part of this Sunday's music. The first track does sound great.

Thanks for the recommendation, lately all of my music purchases start as a recommendation from someone on this forum.:rocker:

I did the exact same this this week and bought Pocket Symphony as a result of MiTT's post, although, I haven't listened to it on my SL3s yet. Maybe this afternoon.....

Oh Robin, I really love Cannonball Adderley. I own Somethin' Else only though. I really need to pick up more of his stuff.

Since my hearing is bad right now, I was just listening to the glorious sounds of F1 cars racing in Bahrain! I didn't watch the race yet (waiting for the wife to get back from a church meeting so we can watch it together) so don't say anything! I will watch the actual race tonight! :rocker:

Well, I'm bummed. No music yet for me today. I'm doing all kinds of chores around the house and yard getting ready for a few weeks of travel.

I will get to listen to my iPod on the plane tomorrow if that counts. And while I'm in Chicago I may see about picking up both the Moody Blues and Genesis SACD sets. That would be something to come home to!

Demo'd my system and both speakers to a local dude today... so we listened to quite a gamut of songs. From DMB to Shakira!

Joey :)

I am bummed also just got off of a 14-hour flight from Hong Kong, and have been without my MLs for over a week now. The Zune with the ear buds will not cut it. It is good to be home.
