Adam, thanks for sharing.....interesting you comments on the Logan's and Maggie's, given the pics you provided it's obvious the dealers had them set up rather poorly, to say the least !

One room I wish I was there to witness!!!

Looks like a good show some nice kit there. Good photos too - remembered the camera this time?:)

But there wasn't a valve in sight in the Wisdom room!

Yep, learnt the limits of non-SLRs last year...

Shame really. I try not to judge by looks, preferring to give benefit of the doubt that those setting up have been listening hard and trying every conceivable option in the quest for good sound. Sadly, that's sometimes not the case......

Brodmann...

Luxman / Vienna

A sad victim of the "***** who plays it too loud" - when your ears lose definition because of the volume, how can you ever evaluate it in an unbiased way? What's more, the poor people next door with all their walls vibrating.......

RVM and Waterfall.

1. The Waterfalls were playing in here (with more BMC amps). I've read about them and seen them. Thought they would sound horrid. Don't care much for the looks either. But I was quite surprised. Definitely not best sound of the show, but not worst either!

2. Never heard of RVM - didn't have time to ask - the sound was just not good enough.

JBL and Accuphase. Wow - these didn't sound too hot last year, but got get award for "most improved". This and TAD. Love Accuphase. So circa 1991.

Note the speaker cable boxes behind the amp. These were everywhere. Not sure why - are they becoming the next audio fashion? I was preplexed with these last year - one model sells for $AUD 56,000! I assume for that you at least get a pair.

Hansen, Avid, Viola and the Weiss MAN301. I want the Weiss! Good sound was eminating from this room. I stayed quite a while. I also waited to hear the Avid and this decision was rewarded. Would love to know what the larger Hansens were like - they were on display but not playing.

Thrax (unfortunate name). I LOVE the Vitus kit though. I'd buy if I didn't have a funding challenge...

HERE I FOUND MUSIC!! YAY.....What I came here for......Technical Brain, CH precision and Evolution Acoustics speakers. WOW - this one was a close contender for best sound. I spent ages in here. The Technical Brain amps are amazing.......Maybe I'd buy those - not Vitus after all......:)

Night mode......

Now, only everyone could manage their listening like these guys. Lights out, shut up and listen.

Unfortunately audio shows are magnets for inconsiderate, ill-bred, vile, plebians. Why? These guys managed those whose sole purpose on this planet is to annoy others so well they deserve special mention. I spent almost an hour in this room!

Burmester. Another little spot I could have spent all day. But it did fall over on piano - it just didn't have that magic of a live piano.

definition: kit:

Any collection of items or components needed for a specific purpose.
British or Australian use only. Not generally used in North America, though I have noticed that some Americans on this site seem to have adopted it.

Does this mean you have abandoned ARC?

You were considering an ARC DAC a while ago. Did you change your mind after listening to the Naim (I think)?

Never. I need a few systems..... :)

Every time I buy something new, I want ARC, but every time I prefer the sound of something else. Yes DACs ... I lestened extensively to both the DAC8 and the Naim. I have my eye on a Naim unfortunately ......soon,soon.

Maybe my hearing is in the toilet?
