I don't know what is with everyone taking actual photos of what they listened to rather than using stock photos, but since I had an SACD rich listening session on Sunday morning I'm going to be a follower and do the same...

Eric Bibb - Sisters and Brothers
Footloose - Soundtrack
Eric Bibb - Spirit and the Blues

and one from the server:

David Sanbourne - Hearsay (actual photo as well!)

Amey, I'd started using actual photos a while back because I can get all of the recordings into a single image and thus save space on the site. That was my only motivation.

As for my listening session yesterday morning I'd started with a Classic re-issue of a Living Stereo recording of Dvorak's "Slavonic Dances" with Martinon at the baton and the London Symphony providing the energy. Followed that with a UK pressing of "Tell Me Something - the songs of Mose Allison" with Van Morrison, Georgie Fame, Mose Allison and Ben Sidran. Great bluesy jazz with Van Morrison in phenomonal form. Ended up with the recently released SACD of Nick Drake - "A Treasury", an anthology of some of his better works.

That's easy for you to do, as you have those nice wide CLSs! :D I've got those puny Aeriuses (Aerieie?) and have to take a pic for each album. I started taking a pic of the music with my speakers when I first started posting to this thread. I think it's kind of fun and maybe eventually, I'll have a pic of all my albums!

I'll do the same when I listen to SACDs then, but mostly I listen from my SB3, for which I would have to take multiple photos (one for each album) anyway. (Oh, and a SB3 display doesn't help anyone find what I'm talking about when they go to the shop!)

DAMNED GOOD ALBUM, THAT. I'm going to listen to that tonight (and maybe next Sunday as well.....

As usual on Sunday morning, I'm looking for that balance between relaxing music but not too relaxing that it puts me back to sleep.
Still working my way through the CDs I purchased from TonePub a few weeks ago. Lot's of good music.
Feist - Not just for iPod commercials anymore
Clapton - If you want the blues, this is the clapton album for you

I didn't actually plan it this way, but all of my Sunday Morning Music is by artists with the letter "W" in the name.

At any rate, I started out this morning with a wonderful vintage Vanguard pressing of Vaughan Williams "Symphony No. 6 in E Minor" with Abravanel leading the Utah Symphony Orchestra. After that ,one of the true masterpieces of the 80's The Waterboys "This is the Sea" on an EMI heavy UK pressing. Right now I've got Wilco's wonderful "Sky Blue Sky" putting a BIG smile on my face.

:D

Bethany & Rufus- 900 Miles. A unique folk/jazz set featuring the sultry voice of Bethany Yarrow (daughter of Peter Yarrow, of PP&M fame), and virtuoso cellist Rufus Cappadocia. Reminds me of Tuck & Patti, just more laid back.

I just started disc 2 of The Celtic Circle 2. Some of the tracks are a bit too new age sounding to me, but overall it's a terrific album with some very good recordings.:music:

A few this morning:

Capercaillie - Choice Language
DIG (Directions in Groove) - Deeper (great Australian funk/acid-jazz)
John Lee Hooker - Chill Out
Keith Jarrett - Facing You

Got up at 4:00 am to do some amateur astronomy but because sun rise was at 5:30 I started to spin disks at 6:00am. So far I have gone through the following. Half way through disk 2 of The wall.

A little alternative...

I just finished listening to side six of this four album set, one more album to go. I picked this up at Best Buy! Made in Holland, the sound quality is excellent and background noise is nonexistant. This is really good stuff.

I've got the Trinity Sessions remake and really like it. Curiously, my favorite song on the album is sung by Ryan Adams. Also, my favorite Lucinda Williams album is "West", though I haven't heard anything by her that I haven't liked. I've seen her live twice at the Birchmere, in Alexandria, VA., a nice small (less than 500) live music venue.
