Pedro from Absolute Sounds (Martin Logan UK distributor) told me that you need 250 watts minimum if you you want to hear the CLS IIz at their best

Ah Pedro... I remember talking to him after my 2nd pair of Aerius replacement panels were duff... the convo was a bit heated to say the least!:devil:
 
I don't know, some of the best sound I heard with my CLS's back then was with a pair of Levinson ML-2, 25 watt class-a monoblocks. I still think it's reserve power and current. The CLX's sound great with the Luxman L-590a II, (30wpc class a) too.

I found the CLS to be a lot more tolerant of tube amplification than the CLX, after the ML-2's I went to an ARC D-79, which I also liked very much.

Wish I still had that amp!!
