I'm getting some new Emotiva amps with the dim. of: 17"w x 9"h x 19"d. Where can I get something with 20" depth for 3 or 4 components stacked vertically or horizontally holding 75 or more pounds? Do I need to find something custom or what?? Looked everywhere on the net for hours!! No luck.

Check out Adona racks. You can find them on Audiogon. They make a 24"X24", I think and they'll hold a lot of weight.

mmm - either get something built yourself or just sit on the floor on a sturdy base like marble.

A good rack is very practical - I wish I had one! - but I find most to be boring and unimaginative - and only partially thought out!

For a highly functional, flexible and reasonably decent looking rack, the Salamander Design Synergy system is a good choice.

It is deep enough to handle large amps, and the shelves are infinitely adjustable, so any height can be accommodated.

I have twin 7' stacks of Synergy racks for my rig and they work very well.

You could buy some Symposium Ultra shelves which will improve upon your sound as well. They come in the large size you need. For an explanation and a look at the picture gallery see - www.symposiumusa.com You would have the amp on the ultra which would be on the floor.

Cheers

The BDI Axis supports 75 lbs per adjustable shelf, 150 lbs on top and bottom shelves. The older Emotiva components fit without a problem. Whether the newer, deeper Emo components fit depends on the kind of interconnects used. The plugs should be very short and the cables flexible. Even then the components will probably stick out of the front a bit.

Studiotech is the biggest bang for the buck in audio. Shelf depth 21", great looking, rock solid. PS-3, 4, 6 and 33, in black, are my favorites. Free shipping, so it doesn't matter where you live. Michael Stone is a great guy to work with and he carries just about every other manufacturer at great reductions:
