I heard that they were going to be shorter than that. I also heard that they will be out this year but likely not in the US. Looks like they will debut in the European market first???

Looks like the only thing we know is that we know nothing

I HAVE NOT heard what you're hearing.

IF???? it is true ! A 6' x 2.2 foot all panel would be one sweet looking set up ! Imagine a Monolith all panel ! .............

That seems very unlikely that they would debut in the European market first when the U.S. is their primary market.

Exactly what my thoughts were. The head of training at ML said when I approaced him last week that the market demand for this type of speaker is greater abroad.

The rumor on the design is that it's all panel as in a non-hybrid model and also a 2 panel model with a mid-high freq panel next to a panel to handle mid-bass duties. I image they would then make a left and right pair.

I don't know if the demand is any greater abroad but that is where the market and the money is right due to the lopsided exchange rate with the Euro and other currencies. Even so I can't imagine they wouldn't make them available in the US. That would be rather so un-american for a Midwest Heartland American company. We'll aside from the free enterprise and capitalism part

The first pair of Summits demonstrated in the US were quickly shipped off to Europe. US dealers did not get another demo pair for a while after that. I know because I tried to audition them and could not. (For quite a while, at least.)

So imagine a stat panel like that on the Summit standing vertical 6 ft. a little over two feet wide on a fancy base......a slim yet sophisticated looking speaker.....Good WAF.......

I guess I am trying to figure out what is the holy grail about having panel reproduce bass thats going to be backed up by a subwoofer anyways. I know the ML mids and highs can give you that "you are there factor". How does a stat reproducing bass equate.

No new thing,s

{it's all panel as in a non-hybrid model and also a {2} panel model with a mid-high freq panel next to a panel to handle mid-bass duties}.
:cool:Funny this is a Mod i am using on my SoundLab A3, an Acoustats that are fullrang ESLs
I just use the two xfourmers to run diff. panels
just like Quad 57s the panel in the middle is T2 just for the highs an the panels on the out side an in side just T1 for bass.
the sound is some of the best i have ever got out of a ELS
I think the so called MIXer of the two Xfourmers for the fullrang panels, there is a Null an you get a way from it with this setup! Here is a Nom. set up you can see how thay Mix ML dose the same thing on the newer CLSllz!
thanks

One of the cool thing about not mixing is the Xfourmer go right to the panels. IE less parts, got to sound Better,
Well to me!You can see on the Acoustat Mk121 above on the secd. side all parts are out.
Soundlab Has the same setup an Mixer.
