Magic Bullet....

When folks ask the question stated above or some variation, I look at it as an opportunity to educate them to look and listen for themselves. I ask them questions and try to get them to see that they need to go through the reseach, then the audition, then the audition at home process before they deside. :music: Like Dan once said me long ago..., now go share what you have learned with others and pass your audio knowledge on, which I try to do whenever the opportunity presents. It is a gift we give to folks to educate them on just what is required the audio purchasing process. Showing folks looking for easy ansewers or quick fixes, as we all know, their is NO - Magic Bullet - to purchasing quality audio.

I look foreward to assisting them toward opening their audio eye and ears so that they can see, as Dan and others here have done for me. :)

Totally agree w/ Robin. I am well known as a car guy, so I get asked ALL THE TIME, "what should I buy?" I then ask about a million questions to the point that the person usually walks away. They want a quick and simple answer, but it is not that easy. You have to know what the person NEEDS and is looking for a little bit before you can answer that question and most folks at the time they ask the question of you have not even thought about it that far! After you get some good answers from the questioner THEN you can start to narrow the field down...

I also think a lot of people just want to buy the gear and not do the hard work associated with putting together a quality system. They just want to spend the bucks and magically have a perfect sounding system. These are probably the people that are most often disappointed when their system doesn't sound the way they expected.
And this is what the topic of this thread is all about. It was not against the people asking questions, which some of you who responded seemed to think is was about. Again it is the people who are asking to be TOLD what to buy and nothing more. No work, no effort, nothing. It is the: "look I have the $$$, tell me what to do". Pure laziness, wanting satisfaction with as little effort as possible. The people who are truely looking for a great result MAKE THE TIME to accomplish the task, and do not use it as an excuse. This trends seems to have become a common occurence of our society.

Exactly Dan, you have put the thread back "on track", again it's a combination thing.....laziness and ego.
