It's the "Pulse" 2-DVD set. Highly recommended by this 35 year Pink Floyd fanatic. The master is analog.
I threw in a VHS tape hoping they would show it again but got "Stevie" Ray Vaughan instead. Pledge week I just can't sit though it.
I'll look for the "Pluse" DVD when I have the cash, looks like a real keeper.

Been such a busy week, I'm only now getting around to posting the music from Sunday morning. I started off with Otis Spann and Fleetwood Mac (Peter Green vintage - not Buckingham/Nicks vintage) "Biggest Thing Since Colossus" reissued on the Pure Pleasure label, then went into some Genesis in the form of the "Duke" album on a Japanese pressing. Somehow that brought me to Jack Johnson's "Brushfire Fairytales" (probably my favorite by him). Finally I ended up moving from vinyl to CD and took our own Tom Dac's recommendation and purchased Imogen Heap's "Speak for Yourself" disc.
Great stuff all around!
Last night I was able to sit down with one of my favorites that to the best of my knowledge has never been issued on CD - Buckingham Nicks type music - in the form of the Pre-Fleetwood Mac Buckingham Nicks album.
Stevie was so hot back then!

Update on "Pulse:" The stereo recording is done in "Q" sound and although I've only heard it in stereo, there's no doubt in my mind as to which will sound better.

Got up early and had quite a few cups-O-Joe this morning, so I'm moving a little fast - as in 45 RPM for all the vinyl spinning so far.
Started off with arguably one of the best classical recordings ever; Reference Records masterful take on the Berlioz "Symphony Fantastique" from a few years ago. Followed that with a more modern classic, the Cowboy Junkies "Trinity Sessions" on the Classic Records 45 Reissue. Right now it's "Belafonte at Carnegie Hall" also on the Classic 45 Reissue.

Students of the art should hear the Munch/BSO version and I don't mean the one that HP raved about a few years ago. I don't remember what LSC number it is, as I have it stored away. However, I do have the JVC XRCD version, which is excellent, particularily the "March to the Scaffold" and the "Witches Sabbath."

Atlantic Records: The House That Ahmet Built
Just got done watching this thourghly engrossing DVD about the history of Atlantic Records and Ahmet Ertegun the man who started Atlantic Records, which is really a documentary on the roots and evolution of Blues into Rock-n-Roll. A must see. My only complaint was Ahmet started Atlantic as a Jazz Label, Because of his love of Jazz. But nowhere in the documentary did they cover John Coltrane,Ornette Coleman, or Charles Mingus, all Jazz greats and Atlantic Artists. A must watch.
