Summits broken in and lovin em!

Since I just upgraded to an all McIntosh tube preamp, ss amplifier and SACD player, I can't get my Martin Logan Vantage speakers upgraded to Summits past my girlfriend. But in 6 months when she forgets what I already spent---:devil:
By the way Tonepub, the McIntosh equipment has really helped getting rid of all of the annoying glare and brightness I was hearing. It is working for me. I switched from a Rotel RB-1080 to a McIntosh MC252. A much warmer amplifier.

It's all about what works in your system for you...
If you like the McIntosh combo that's all that matters!
I own some Mac gear, its just not in my main system...

You now need a MS750 music server! IT's great.

As for sneaking the summits past your girlfriend, just
get em in the same finish and send her out of town
with her girlfriends for a few days. When she comes back
home, I'll bet she doesn't even notice!

They are only a few inches bigger...

I did the same thing to my wife about 8 years ago when I
went from Vandersteen ones to two's. She came home from
her moms and asked me what was different! I said nothing!

She figured it out later on, but really didn't care.

Good luck on upgrading, but the Vantages are also fantastic!!
Especially considering you have the sub too!

You are probably correct on sneaking the Summits in because she ignores the Vantages. All she looks at are the McIntosh Blue and Green Lights. She does not care how much better the sound is but she sure likes the the blue meters! I think I will keep quiet until Christmas and tell her that our home theatre room needs new speakers and place my Vantages in there and buy ML Summits to replace the Vantages. :devil:
