Lots of acoustic panels!
I could do an 8ft spacing but then I would have to place my amps behind my speakers and then I couldn't see them, that would be sad.

Ive said it before and now ML is using it in there set up for the CLX. You want your head in the seat to be double the distance away from the front edge of each panel.
EXAMPLE> If your speakers are 72" edge to edge to get optimal timing and sound staging 12 feet would be best pending you have them out at least 4 to 5 feet in a room with about 2 feet or better side wall clearance and you are not pinned to a rear wall that would emphasize bass. This method may vary by a few inches but I can tell you it wont be off by more than 6 inches from head to edge of speakers.
