Need suggestions for HT pre-amplifier for SACD, DVD-Audio Multi Ch and Blu-ray

So how did the Marantz AV7005 work out?

I'm debating whether I should upgrade my Sunfire TGIV for the Marantz AV7005. Feature wise it's a no brainer, but sound quality (both music and HT), I want to know if it's better.

Also...this is a minor question, but does the AV7005 automatically turn-on (aka signal sensing)?
Also does the input auto-switch (again signal sensing)?

I know it's not an audiophile question, but I like features that increase automation.
