You might not believe this, but the MTR carriages were done by and Australian contractor, judging by the stickers inside them. I'm not sure if they did any of the rest of the setup.

Yes - built by Goninan of Newcastle. Don't get me wrong, some Sydney trains are very nice too - it's just they're run by an absolute bunch of plonkers that couldn't organise a pi55 up in a pub.....

Goninan - that was the name I was trying to remember. The build quality was truly excellent for a public service train. Those HKers must have PAID BIG TIME for them.:)

Anyway, as promised - more turntable pics. Firstly, more Transrotor...

The first is the Artus - in full and then TriPlanar side. You've seen the SME V side earlier in the post. You can see the name tags for the rest.

The Artus must weigh a pound or two:) Nice, though...

That's the Germans catered for - now an Australian effort for amey01... a Continuum Criterion that looks as though it's been around a few shows looking at the state of the platter....

Plus some UK niceness... SME model 20, SME Series II in gold plate on a Dr Feickert turntable, and Decca London cartridge and parallel tracking tonearm.

211, you're like a dirty little porn merchant showing us all of these lusty analog tarts! I can't help myself, I keep looking.

It looks like the Germans were well represented by both Transrotor and Clearaudio, but did you happen to see any of the TW Acoustics tables? Their 3 arm version of the Raven is pretty sweet.

I have more pics, but I am thinking I am risking overkill here... anyway, to top it off, since I am User211 - here is Audio Note UKs version of the Gaku-On... have to say I prefer the Japanese effort lookswise and featured earlier. It's good for 45 Watts, which makes me happy, because my 211 monos chuck out 80, with 130 peaks... but they are physically much larger - and A LOT less expensive:D

Hope you have enjoyed it all, folks. These pages have had a lot of views in the short time they have been up, so I guess you have.

Enjoy!

Justin

The Transrotors are TOTALLY SHAMELESS *******, no clothes hard core types...:) I am sure they would do WHATEVER you asked them too...

The Clearaudios show a little more restraint & possibly taste, but strut their stuff very nicely.

The Continuum has some nice smooth curves...

The SOTA stuff looks like a cheap date with fishnets.

It's cold in Britain, and the chaps at Decca and SME tend to keep their clothes ON:)

Good god, I am getting carried away here...

Anyway, to answer your question, there were a few more TT brands, but not TWs. And lest we forget, there ARE other contenders out there...:)

We should send you to all shows armed with your pornograph. Maybe even create a specail section for you here, entitled, "These pics just in". :D

Thanks for the pics.

SOTA makes great 'tables and they are very busy, with about a 6 week delay from the time you order. Plenty of them go to Europe, so they are very highly regarded on the East side of the pond.

User211,

Thanks for all the great eye candy. I, for one don't think you are posting too many photos. Did Scheu Analog have any Turntables at the show?

Satch

I agree with Satch, show us what you've got!

Over the past 3 years I've probably posted 450-500 photo's from the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest. I'll do the same this year.

We all love the Audio Porn!

Justin, I love her already !
Thanks for sharing the great eye candy !!

Turns out MITT the moderator is a bigger porn merchant than me, then! There's no way I have 450-500 pics of the show! I probably would have, but for the wifeage boredom factor:(

Anyway, this is for twitch, who I am sure will appreciate the following. The Zeus is absolutely massive in the flesh. And it's $7995, or £4,000, for 225 Watts of ultra-linear. Over here it would sell for £8,000, using the perverse £1 = $1 logic for imports, but to you guys, surely that is good value? The pre is the Hera, both inside and out. But why are there two side-by-side, I wonder?

The Zeus is loaded with the Genelex KT88 copy - anyone got any direct experience of these? I would have, but I ditched my Air Tight... I'd be very interested to know, anyone?

The Zeus doesn't look to be self-biasing... I only hope it's a stable circuit and that it doesn't have to be done too often as a consequence. 12 tubes to bias regularly = not much fun!

Too much Chord equipment to list - but just to prove the UK can do big solid state electronics...

Actually this setup was connected to some big Focals... I believe the TT is an Avid. Sound was up there - and given a good volume crank and some decent source material who knows what this was really capable of... quite a lot I suspect. Watch it Krell:D

Those TT's are UNREAL!!! Some of them are sculpture more than audio gear!

And given some nice virgin vinyl they SOUND UNREAL too... I'd love a top flight deck just like most of us would, looking at these:)

Anyway - here's a big heap of (relatively!) very inexpensive Raysonic tube equipment...
