Hey friends, I'm a classical music and opera zealot who wants Carnegie Hall in his living room (you can't bring brandy or scotch into Carnegie Hall). My ESL15a's are perfect. I have a curated music library of close to 10k CDs. I've never been a vinyl or online music fan for all sorts of reasons. It just doesn't work for classical music. I use two Benchmark AHB2 amps as mono blocks connected to the Benchmark DAC3 running off an Oppo UDP-203 in transport mode, able to transmit SACD. All balanced interconnects. I also use Surgex SA-20s for the amps and ESL15s, to protect against antiquated Washington DC electric grid issues. This is my prime system. My secondary and former system is in my basement: Dunlavy SC-4 speakers, JL Audio subs, Pass amps and preamps with a top-end Schidt DAC. It's very good but not as good as my current system. ML ESL is really the best for complex orchestral work like Mahler or grand opera. Plus they look great too.
