No one would be able to afford it! Might have better audio quality though as a smaller maker would have put more emphasis on that, though who knows this thing might just blow us all away by how it sounds once it is out! I would love to test one to see!!!

Have any of you guys seen the new BD Player they are putting out? Features internal decoding of DDHD and DTSHD and HDMI 1.3a output as well as a Silicon Optix 10-bit Realta HQV video processor for DVD upscaling.

It also features BD Profile version 1.1 which apparently allows for picture in picture featuring seperate video and audio tracks from the same player.

That's one sweet Blu-ray player! While $2k for a Blu-ray player is a bit on the steep side for most, I'll bet you this one, like their AV processor, is going to be the most technologically advanced. If I knew for a fact that Blu-ray was going to be the de-facto standard in high def players, I would definitely get me one. But it's still too early to know how things are going to play out.

But for anyone wanting the ultimate Blu-ray machine, this is without a doubt the one to get.

Denons MSRP's are always high. They say $1,999 but it will street closer to $1,300-1,500.

You're right, if a company like Meridian, Lexicon, Theta, etc, introduced an AV controller with everything that this Denon has, it would be outrageously priced (think $22k-$25k). I guess looking at it that way, in the high end realm anyway, $7k is a good deal. In the real world of mass produced receivers and such, $7k is still a chunk of change.

I also am eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new Denon to see if its sound quality is up there with the likes of Krell, Classe', Theta, etc. If this thing does match the sound quality of the ones mentioned, with every thing it offers, I'll definitely get one. We'll see.

The AVP-A1HD will be available this fall!

Rumors on pricing and availability have been circulating the net for a while now, but no official word had been announced until now. At the CEDIA show in Denver, Denon officially announced that the AVP-A1HD AV controller and POA-A1HD 10 channel amplifier will be available this fall (Nov/Dec). The AVP-A1HD will retail for $7,000, and the POA-A1HD 10 channel amplifier will retail for $7,000.

Being that Denon's Blu-ray player will have CEC via HDMI, I don't see why their AV controller wouldn't. But I guess we'll have to wait till it comes out to know for sure.

I really hope this AV controller sounds as good as I think it will. And if it can be purchased for around $5k, then this will definitely be replacing my Sunfire TGIII.

Well according to the Denon Japan website the AVP-A1HD won't be released until early 2008. If this holds true then it stands to reason that it may not make it here this year either. I want one of these really bad, but so far no word from Denon USA as to an exact time frame. So all we can do is wait and see what happens.

And if greg_slo can get some info on the 1st of December from the Denon rep that would be awesome.

I know this is going to be one heck of a nice pre/pro.

Denon Uber Alles!

Wow what a beast! I think it needs me! But how happy will that amp be driving ML speakers?

In my 5.1 system I could conceivably bi amp EVERYTHING with that mother! Bring the noise!

The pre-amp is 7 grand though... OUCH! I can only imagine how much the amp itself will cost...
