Jeff,
That’s a nice stand for sure, but maybe not wide enough for a Theater.
The Theater is wider and heavier than most centers, so stability of the stand in the face of those two factors should be a consideration.
If you leave the TV on the current Bell’O stand, the theater on this new stand could well be too high, as well as too far forward in the room. And even though the AVP can compensate, it also might not look as ‘clean’.
If not wanting to mount the Theater above the TV, then I’d suggest this as an option:
Get a plasma wall mount that offers vertical adjustment. I.E that has tracks that mount to the wall vertically, then a display mount that slots into the tracks and allows up/down adjustment as well as tilt.
The idea is you want to have the flexibility to raise the plasma at least to where the top of the screen is level with the top of the prodigies to free up space below it for a stand mounted center.
But do so in way that allows you to get the top of the center as close to the bottom of the plasma without losing valuable inches to a shelf.
With that arrangement, you should be able to get the Theater to be at roughly the height of where the Prodigy panels start.
The other point is that you still need to be able to treat the surface *behind* the theater with absorbent materials. It really makes a difference in clearing up dialog on this critical channel.
So find a stand that allows height adjustment.
Or alternatively, do the math with your current Bell’O stand, if the Theater can go on the top shelf, and still allow the plasma to ‘float’ above it off the wall mount without being too high, that might be an option.
Just remember, having the TV too high is a problem depending on your seating arrangements. You might make your chiropractor rich
