A tough question to answer. I can speak for the SME arms. I have had several and SME has manufactured both kinds. My guess would also be the application as in cartridge, table and how often the cartridges are replaced. I think SME still manufactures both kinds. I am sure they have their place...

I agree that the Sound Anchors are not that good looking. I also think they are way to expensive for what they made of and to me the height is wrong. I would explore a DIY approach because then you will get exactly what you want. Just my opinion. Jeff:cool:
