So, are we all going to sell our Logans ??

Having owned a pair of his old Eros speakers, I'm not impressed with any of his speaker-speak. He's just trying to sell his speakers. The flat panel made the sweet spot so narrow that it became a problem, I'm talking SUPER narrow. His speakers are also GROSSLY overpriced. When I bought my...

    Vista vs Vantage?

cstory, how do the Vistas compare to the Aerius'? I've had Aerius', SL3's, and ReQuests, and CLS's....

    Vista vs Vantage?

Hey, there's a dearth of reviews of the Vistas out there so I figured I'd post here. Vistas vs Vantages, input? I'm primarily concerned with the stat panel. According to ML they are about the same size, is that correct? I have 3 subs in my setup, so I'm not worried about bass output, but my...

    sl3,aerius, vantage

Daniel, another thing to consider is that the cost of a new pair of Vantages, or even used ones easily puts you in range of used Odyssey's or even Prodigy's, definitely ReQuests. However, these being such large speakers affects the WAF. The SL3's and Vantages are a nice size for getting the...

    sl3,aerius, vantage

I've had Aerius' and SL3's in my system before. Can't comment on the Vantage though. To me, the Aerius panel is just too small, it isn't able to generate the full sound of the SL3's. While it is a good sounding speaker that many people are happy with, the SL3 is better in just about every...

    2-way active x-over suggestions

Thanks for the info. I was looking at getting a pair of Monolith I's, but they were sold before I got there. So, now I'll probably start looking for a pair of ReQuests, or hold out for another set of Monolith's.

    2-way active x-over suggestions

How does the sound of a cheap active bi-amp vs a good passive sound? Assuming the same amp of course. I'm wondering if upgrading the internal caps would end up sounding better than a starter active setup. I'm wondering if it's worth fussing with.

    2-way active x-over suggestions

I'm thinking about going active. If I want a "starter" quality x-over, something that will improve the sound over a bi-amped passive system, how nice of a crossover do I need to get? Can I get by with a low-end Behringer or dbx, or would it muddy up my sound?

Anybody have Monoliths in Austin, TX I can hear?

I'm tempted to pickup a pair, but would like to hear a set so I know what the woofer integration sounds like before I drive down to get them.

Monolith vs Monolith III's, any input?

I'm curious how the original Monolith's compare with the Monolith III's. Can the grill covers over the 'stats be removed from the Monolith's? There are a pair of Monolith's for sale around me that I'm curious about. James

Need repairs to Aerius i, Los Angeles, CA

Definitely try calling Martin Logan directly first. I've seen a lot of audio repair guys who don't have a clue how to work on Logans butcher them pretty well, and ML has great customer service.

    Recap my crossovers........hmmmmm

Kenny, I've done cap replacements on several speakers including SL3's and Aerius'. Solen is a decent cap, but has a bit of grain to it. For anything over 30mfd, they are cost effective, while the more essoteric caps are not. However, I would highly recommend that you use a higher quality cap...

Possibly comming back to the fold

Might be picking up a set of Sequel II's on Saturday. Depends on final inspection, but I'm missing that 'stat magic. Having owned Aerius', SL3's, CLS's, and Requests my current Maggies just aren't giving me what I want. Plus, for me it's been almost 100% movies lately, so I can't justify the...

    Quest vs ReQuest, opinions?

Anybody know the sonic differences between these two? Looking for sound quality differences, not technical differences. i.e. how close to the ReQuests are the Quests? I've owned ReQuests in the past and loved them. Thinking about getting a pair of Quests to get back into ML's (from...

ok guys need input for a possible upgrade to ReQuests

Definitely go for it, the ReQuest is a HUGE step up in panel sound. I haven't owned the Aeons, but I have owned Aerius' and SL3's, and the ReQuests spank them both. The ReQuests are a screaming deal on the used market. You'll have to spend about $5-8k for speakers that better the ReQuests...

Somebody's selling CLS pannels for $35

Found this while sniffing around, have no idea of the condition or if they are still available, but the ad is still up: http://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/ele/387388004.html

    ML Quest speakers

Avoid direct sunlight on the speakers, as the UV will cause the membrane to deteriorate prematurely.

    Aerius i and AV receiver

Understandable, I'm using a PS3 as my main source right now...:) The funny thing is that the PS3 has a better picture with Blu Ray than even the best DVD player you can get, and now it upsamples DVD's and CD's as well. For cheaper receivers, rather than Onkyo or Denon, you might want to check...

    Aerius i and AV receiver

Not sure how the pricing is on Meridian in Italy, but you might want to consider a Meridian 565 or 568 preamp as a do-all system. The meridian surround preamps actually offer an outstanding 2-channel experience. I moved from a BAT VK-3i preamp to a Meridian 565 and the sound quality on...

Anyone go from Quests to CLS II

How long will you have to wait to get them? I think lugano sums it up well, for 90% of the audio you listen to, the CLS is as good as you can get, they really have a magic to them. For the way you describe wanting to use them, I think you'll love them. Consider dialing in sub(s) to match...
