I have never heard great benefits of bi-wire with either my Aeons nor with my Vantages. I would rather advise to upgrade to a better single-wire cable if you feel the need to upgrade. Are you dissatisfied with the sound you are getting now?

Lack of focus and a small sweet spot always is a sign of bad setup with ML speakers. Get the setup right and they have a pretty homogenic soundfield off-axis.

Another great alternative for ML subs is Velodyne. Integrate extremely well with ANY speaker, including ML. You also might consider the Sunfire and Lexicon receivers. Will match well with the Vantages.

Because the ML speakers are not a point source, but a line source, they will in some situations simply not focus as precise as a coaxial or dome tweeter equipped 'normal' speaker in the same situation. Because a wave front is launched from different angles, they tend to interfere with each other...

You might try a pre-amp though... I have heard it sound better with it... Wadia and Audio Aero are both much better direct into a power amp. Cannot comment on Shanling or Theta.

This really is a dream system! I think it should sound GREAT with the Wadia 861 direct-coupled to the Bel Canto amps!

Velodyne makes some wicked subs, really great! I am the distributor of Velodyne in the Netherlands, so I am biased though... :D They are one of a few brands that makes subs that are 'quick' enough to really handle music elegantly.
