We received word that the "Theater i," is being discontinued, with its replacement the "Stage," being available in May or June. We were told the Cinema i will remain current. Sales price is expected to be somewhere between $2,800 to $3,200. However I was told to expect $3,195.
So knowing what little I did about the prototypes....
They went with the one that outperformed the Theater i, but costs on that unit were too much for it to replace both Centers as was the original plan. A Cinema i replacement may very well happen by this time next year.
So its going to be possible to buy a Theater i for about $1,900 to $2,000 depending on your dealer.
Designer Line gear had a big price drop (in my opinion) on the Mosaic and Montage. $1,295 and $1,795. Which makes them far more appealing. I asked if the Clarity would be replaced with an X-Stat model and was told it was in the works, but timeframe is likely a year away or longer.
