Definitely agreed. A good friend of mine in London has Sophia 2's with tube amps and they sound great.

That's really the ticket to get the most musical sound out of them...

My favorite WP to this day is the WP/5 model. For the Sophia's the newer 2 version is probably the Wilson's I would buy today if I decided to go down that path.

A few weeks ago, I heard the Maxx 3s powered by the new Ayre monoblocks and thought the sound was amazing. I could easily live with Wilsons. I also listened to the Sophia 2s and loved their sound, also.
