Oh hell he likes Kate Bush, Ken. Massive down surge in credibility for me. Can't stand her!

Discovered this on Tidal the other day. Well worth taking a trip with Steve on this one:D

Sure, it is samey and repetitive throughout but there's just something about this I really like. It also sounds fantastic on the Apogees/Lampi DAC.

If you have Tidal or similar and like electronic music check it out.

Touchwood the new Apogee Interstellas should arrive Sunday. Touchwood, that is;)

I just find her intensely annoying Ken. Intensely.
Dead to me. Dead.

Meanwhile, have you heard Wilson's last, The Raven That Refused to Sing? No Kate Bush-like stuff whatsoever.

No - but I've just seen he was born where my mother lives:) Tidal hasn't got it:(

Worth buying?

Depends.... If you like progressive rock, it's a cinch. If not, all bets are off. Title song here, though much of the album is far, far busier.

SQ on all of Wilson's albums is totally off the charts.

So I stumbled upon (and am killing the rest of the day with) a few female artists (my favorite kind) who may displace (may) Sarah Jarosz (she seems unwilling to play in Vancouver...) as my current crush .

The first, and front runner, is Basia Bulat. She is Canadian :)bowdown:) from Toronto I think, and has produced three albums so far. A few tracks:

The second artist is really growing on me. Her name is Frazey Ford. Again, Canadian. She was a founding member of The Be Good Tanyas, and is now pursuing her solo career. A few tracks:

These two are really something (to me, anyway). Very Cool.

Edit: Sarah, you're safe at the top

Tonight, First Aid Kit has me rapt.

Edit: I can't say enough good things about these two. Beautiful vocals and great original melodies. Carrie played them for me 2 years ago, and I didn't get it. I have it now though. They even have the Bruce Springsteen "Way to many words in one verse, but somehow it sounds wonderful" down pat.

TUTU on vinyl is the bizzz. But great on CD-ish too. Just enjoyed exploring Risabet's recommendation on Qobuz. CD quality streaming services certainly enhance the value of this excellent........... "Justin-thread".

45RPM Reference Recordings RR-9

What a great record. Dynamic, rhythmic, and great modern classical music.

Just looked at my previous post and it too was a Kronos album. I'm thinking that White Man Sleeps is next.

They remind me of the Penguin Café Orchestra. TIDAL again has bags of Kronos. And Penguin Café.
