Congrats on your "really big ML's"

I used to own a pair of these http://www.infinity-forum.de/rs_4_5.html about the same size/shape as the Monolith:rolleyes: but nowhere near the performance of the stat! I wonder what the biggest membrane/stator ML ever made was. CLS, Statement (original), Monolith?

I have sen pics of the original Statments. This looks to be much bigger than the Monoliths or the CLS.

Yep, the original statements were the biggest stat panels ML has ever made.

I think they wisely moved to the narrower versions in the e2 design. The mid-bass column handles generating enough SPL in the 60 to 250hz range that a bigger panel was just not warranted.

The original statement had the ESL trying to go to under 100hz, and that's just not efficient, and of course, requires a HUGE panel, which has it's own issues, cost just being one of them.

The secret in the statement panels is that they are nearly 6ft tall, which provides ideal line source dispersion into the room.
I wish I could lay my hands on a pair of e2 panels and step-up electronics. Boy could I have fun with that ;)

But, Monoliths aren't so bad, they have huge panels as well :D

... Till you see the Monoliths in person one has no idea just how big they are. The Monoliths are huge and these are mint. ...

He, he, pictures sure don't do them justice, these are indeed big speakers.

Just wait till you start messing with them, like panel replacements, then you really know they're big

Congrats on getting them in. Now we patiently (ha) await pics and more of your reactions.

I'm sorry to say with the new home some remodeling that is needed all future toys will have to wait till Q2 of 08. No active crossover till then.

Sweetness, Cherian! Pics pics pics! You know how we do!

We're all pics whores!

Yeah, what Joey said - that's how we roll!

You have pulled together a very sweet system there over the last several months. I would love to hear how it sounds someday.

I will have pictures posted by Thursday, promise.

Ok because everyone asked!! This is just the mockup. I hope to have it up and running this weekend.

That's a great place for the electric panel! Will each component get its own dedicated AC line?
BTW, if you remove half of those ceiling tiles in any pattern you like except a one tile checkerboard (a 4-tile CB is good, or a big hole in the middle with tiles all around the edge) you will have lower and smoother bass response.

I thought about it, but no. I have one 20 amp circuit pulled for everything.

Cherian, congrats on everything coming together !

I can't wait till I finally get out to your 'neck of the woods' after the first of the year and invite myself over !! LOL !

Jose,

That's one sweet looking set up...and it's not even set up!!

I bet your system will sound fantastic when it's all dialed in.
