Hi Guys,

I don't know if it's my room and where I have my Summits but it seems that miniscule adjustments of the knobs are clearly audible.

Have Summit owners, or owners of the other models that have self powered drivers, had similar experiences?

Gordan, I set up my summits using the SMS-1 which is a digital eq with a real time frequencies graph from 20 to 120 hrtz. It's amazing how minor adjustment does effect the achieve flat response. I can't imagine doing it by ear. (System #184) Sam

I presume you mean the 25 and 50 Hz bass controls (not really the crossover). I'm not sure how you define miniscule, but I've found +/- 1 Hz adjustments are indeed audible. Using the XTZ Room Analyzer graphically confirms that as well.

I've found that it takes me at least a full db before I can pick up any change. Perhaps it is my failure to be able to pick up on it in a subtle way, or, could it be that your speakers are spiked and treated for vibration (BDR) which makes small adjustments more noticeable?

Hi Greg,

Thank you for your alternative perspective.

I've been accused by some MLC members of being too serious at times. I want to say, for the record, that I find your post .
