The Travel Channel description of Bern's.
Tampa, Florida
The décor of Bern's Steakhouse is a feast for the eyes. Its extravagantly decorated interior features the finest marble, velvet and gold trim -- a perfect setting for the steak and wine connoisseurs who frequent Bern's tables. Dry-aging is taken to new levels at this steakhouse, where the meat is aged for up to 8 weeks -- almost double the industry standard. Once the beef is properly aged, it's then cut to order on the spot and taken directly to the grill.
This is rather amusing. The interior does have the items in it they describe but it is quite outdated and has the appearance of an old movie set whore house. You almost want to laugh when you walk in. Combined with the fact that it is basically is a warehouse you would probably never drive by and be impressed.
That said the food is good.
I believe they have the largest commercial wine collection in the USA. Something like 600,000 bottles and a 300 page hard bound wine list.
If you go, the kitchen tour in quite interesting. Don't forget the desert rooms upstairs.
