They played a nice range of stuff, which was good for Metallica fans new and old. What they did play from the new album sounded way better live than it did on Death Magnetic.
The stage was killer, it was an in the round situation and wide open. The guys also were very cool roaming the stage a lot, so everyone got a chance to see them.
I've always thought Metallica was a much better band live than on record. They are much more energetic and dynamic live.
Here's a shot from the pit, it was great to get up close and personal for the first three songs. (not like the old days, when they would let you shoot the whole concert!)
