New Member, Sequel II, from 1992, December

Hi All,
I live in sunny town Split, in Croatia. Started with Hi-Fi affairs almost 50 years ago. Had so many stuff at home. Now settled with my trust 300B mono's, cheap DAC and computer sourced music (local and streams). Still use some CD's. Mainly jazzy, acoustic music. For this type of music these speakers work perfectly. I just got them. Had to first vacuum them thoroughly, then cleaned contact plus to panel, and sound is here.
I was surprised that these old ones still play with such clarity. Normally one would think of panel replacement, but no. I am only fighting with bass response, as there is to much of it. Maybe I'll switch to Active Crossover and resolve this. Crossover is also original, untouched, so I will have to check these components first. It will interesting winter months ahead of me.
Can anybody point me from where to download a schematic of crossover, please?

Too much bass in my opinion in this case is because the panels are worn out. I had that with my Prodigy speakers made in 2000. The bass is overpowering because the panels have low output. Have you tried running DSP on them? When I ran Audyssey on mine they sounded very good. Audyssey tuned down the bass so that the panels could try to match it.
Eventually I replaced my panels. Best money I ever spent! With the original old panels, after DSP ran, my Prodigies were set at +12 dB! That made my amp work hard. Now, after the new panels, the Prodigies run at +1 dB and sound better! Just as loud.

Thx Robert, this my opinion too. But since I just got them, I am still investigating their history, and after that I will decide in what direction to proceed. As price of new panels has gone up sky-high, I do not know if I can afford them, so I am looking for a company in Europe that could refurbish them. Put a new mylar and they should be OK for next 10 years, and hopefully for a fraction of price (or to be more precise 2/3). There is one in Germany, but I am waiting for their reply, or maybe find someone selling ones like "thedaveman" had last year. If things would work for me I will try to rejuvenate xo with some fresh capacitors, resistors, maybe silver wiring to bass drivers.. Thank you for encouragement.

All i did was replace the panels and the speakers came alive. Everything else in mine is original from 2000. Hopefully yours will be similar.
