I just got banned.....

Hoooo weeeeh!

I just got banned from the library! I was on my 6th trip of renting 50 cds from the local library and I just found out that I returned the last batch 8 days late! That makes about 43$ in fines!!!

Needless to say, they said I'm temporarily banned until I pay up.

*Gulp*.... library police is after me!

I hope you are properly paid for your services when you qualify Joey. Very difficult to take back a medical service and you are reliant upon the integrity of those paying.

I suspect a topflight musician in a topflight orchestra is still paid less than a medical specialist.

I was not overly perturbed by a late fee at a library.

I am disturbed by musicians being systematically FLAC'D over. Every little bit of income counts in a musicians life.

I agree, it's not the best use of the library. I will get to the point where I start buying everything I listen to, but I cant because it's expensive and I cant afford it. But, to make matters better, I do request a lot of music from the library and they end up ordering it... so in a sense, I am moving the economy of music. Besides, now that I'm eyeing a CDP and a TT, it's only a matter of time before I start buying CDs and LPs.

Besides, this whole thing is like an investment. I may be a "leech" in most eyes at the moment, but because of all the music I enjoy now, it wont be long before I give it all back by buying tons more in the future. If it wasnt for FLAC, I wouldnt be able to be this involved in this hobby, hence, no music cds and software to be bought in the future.

It will balance out in a few years.

BTW, thanks for the funny comments everybody! I will pay my fee and un-ban myself!

Harold Washington

The Harold Washington Library off of Congress had been my favorite in city journey for many years, the floors of goodies that they have is just eye can, *cough* ear candy... What is nice is they have little listening stations there as well so you can preview an artist or album without having to make the trip home and finding out this great looking album/artist you've never listened to is really crap... It makes it a bit more of an efficient process.
