Pretty well done advertising, I'd say.

I enjoyed this so much I watched it a second time. It was then I thought.........it's not a very good advertisment really. If the system was truly transparent, it would have been obvious that the sound was the snapping of a wooden conductor's baton by the human hand!!

Or you could just give them to me.......

Or you could buy your own. There's a pair on Audiogon for $2,600 right now, and I'm pretty sure they are not white.

MBL's white series would have fit in well in the Star Wars movies.

Well at least they're not lime green, the colour preferred by tonepub.

I often think about that VT-60 you know......whether it would have in fact been a better choice.....or not? Where it is now. What it is powering. If the owner is happy. Oh well, I have a Canadian amp and I'm pretty happy with it.......

There are two aspects of this (wonderful) video that I find utterly perplexing... First, who wears a deep red ascot after labor day? Second, with a woman like that, shouldn't he be playing Marvin Gaye's "Let's Get It On"?

Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine that the fashion police would weigh-in on the video. Should the master of the mansion instead have worn white to match the equipment? I plead ignorance in the fashionista department; I would have worn a muscle shirt.

Interesting that the music used is Liszt's "Death Dance".

I'll stand corrected. Would you like to correct me?

Regardless, it looks like plastic, so I don't like the aesthetics - not one bit. And it felt like plastic in use. (I was using MBL kit to audition the CLXes.)

It was just a straight question - I wasn't having a go.

I spent 3 minutes surfing and found out the finish is high gloss white paint - I'd guess applied to metal because if you were using a plastic you wouldn't need it.

I didn't take it that way.... - I really wanted to be corrected (if I was wrong).

Next time I'm in Sydney I'm going to have a good poke at some MBL kit and see for myself.

That’s the same resolution of details I hear from my system. It’s incredible that MBL’s can do too!

Adam,

Who cares if it's black, white, or whatever?

What matters is that the consumer is happy with the choice, aesthetically and sonically.

If you don't like MBL electronics, so be it.

GG

Seems kind of contradictory...

You say who cares about the color, when the whole time people are arguing about the color. So a few people care haha.

Then you say its all about the consumer being happy "aesthetically and sonically." Isnt color included in the aesthetics? haha just thought I would point it out.

Sentence one and two clearly go together.

Aesthetics clearly includes color.

You also want to bash MBL, fine.

To repeat, all that matters is that the purchaser is happy.

haha.

White (or gold) wouldn't be my choice of color, but I think the stuff looks great. It screams build quality.

George,

In my experience, not really.

I do love the ML line (had four models spanning some 25 years) but in my room with my gear, I find the 116's more engaging, musical, and more revealing than any ML model I've owned. That includes the legacy Summits and the CLS 2A's.

No dog fight. Just my perspective.

Best,

GG

The first time I heard a MBL demo, the remote stopped working and the guy there was unable to operate it without the remote. MBL looked like a big expensive joke!
The last time it was quite different. It sounded nothing less than great.

However they wouldn't pass the WAF test.

Properly set up with good component synergy, any system can perform well beyond its apparent capabilities.

That's the magic and challenge of our hobby.

GG
