CLS refurb cost

When those of you refurbed your CLS's, what did it cost for the new panels,etc? I really miss my CLS's, and though I love my Summits am
thinking of a second system in my house with a pair of CLS's for a different
feel.

The article on panel replacement was excellent.

Also, how difficult would you say this procedure was on a scale from 1-10...

$900 bucks and a month of patience as they break in. The removal is easy and takes about 1/2 hr at best per speaker. There is a VID here somewhere that shows it being done.

it is interesting to see all those that have had the cls speakers are drawn back to them over and over again. I was lucky to find a used pair with brand new panels. I will never sell them.... I still look at used ones to have the electronics as a backup as (currently)new panels are easy to come by.

There is still something very seductive about the sound of NO crossover.
That CLS was one of my favorite speakers of all time. Our guy in Atlanta
has a pair and I really love them.

The Summit is a great speaker, just different. I told my wife that if we move next year I would like a spare room for one more system and my daughter is going to college in a couple of years, so I just might get my wish!

It's definitely a back burner project, but I have a good freind in the capacitor and inductor business that would custom build and match all the goodies in the box, so I could really dial em in. Fun project for my spare time!

That CLS was one of my favorite speakers of all time.......The Summit is a great speaker, just different.

I could not have said it better when comparing the CLS and the Summit. The Summit is great, but not great enough to make me want to replace my CLS with them.

if the panels are verified by serial # under a year old and they are standard oak they will fetch between $2200 to $2800 if mint! The wood frames being exotic species will drive them up a bit!
