Is anyone using a class d amp with their Logan’s? I made a strange discovery by trying a nuprime class d amp I own on my 15a’s.i usually ran my McIntosh 452 amp with my speakers with good results but I prefer a very cheap class d amp with them. Thoughts on this blasphemy?

I am running the Peachtree Audio Gan 400 amplifier with my ESL's with great success.

I don't have the 15a speakers but have Classic ESL 9 speakers, and I use Class D amps exclusively and I am very pleased with the results. I initially used my NAD M28 and bi-amped them using 4 of the 7 channels on that amp. I've enjoyed that set up but needed additional channels to drive some new home theater speakers and just this year purchased two monoblock Class D amps from BuckeyeAmps. I run my ESl 9's without bi-amping/bi-wiring and with the additional power from the monoblocks and love the results. My wallet is especially happy. The current offerings from Dylan at BuckeyeAmps are extremely low distortion as measured, and in my opinion deliver a very high quality + high value product to consider if you are looking for higher end amps for your speakers.

Thanks for the reply’s. I’m going to upgrade to a higher end class d amp soon I hope. The amount of detail I’m getting from a class d amp is astounding for sure!

I am using a Devialet Expert - a french class D/class A construction(not cheap, though) - with excellent results on my Martin Logan Summit X´s (comparable to 13a). Prior to this I used 2 different Threshold Stasis designs, the S/200 and the Stasis 3, which are bulky & meaty constructions, that doubles down to about 1 ohm. The Devialet easily outperform both of them, even if the Summit X does go down to 0.7 ohm at 20khz, but I suppose in this area there is not much music information at high wattage available, so they are a relative easy load for the Devialet, in real life situations.
