I have a new pair of Source speakers and a Dynamo 500.

Am wondering if I could place the sub behind the Source speakers in order to hide it from view and reduce the amount of space taken up by the speakers + tv.

The port on the Source speakers is just about the top of the sub so that shouldn't be a problem.

I guess the only problem is placing the sub right against the wall and how that would effect it's port. Although I could turn it so the port doesn't face the wall.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

BTW I have a corner fireplace so the sub can't go into that corner, but hidden behind the Source speaker it would be near the edge of the fireplace.

Can't hurt to try right? Where is the sub now? As u move the sub closer to a wall or corner you will find that it gets boomier. But if you have a HT that might be something you like.

Believe one of the tricks I have seen for sub placement is to place the sub in the seating position and to walk around the room. Listen as you walk around to possible sub positions. You should hear greater output in certain spots.

What are you looking for - better dynamics or better blending with your mains?
