Any specific label (possibly on vinyl) you'd recommend for that?

The Decca (SXL 6529) LAPO by Zubin Mehta is outstanding both sonically and as a performance. The reissue is very good and original pressings are very expensive if you can find them. The Haitink/LPO on Phillips (6500 072) is good also but not in the same league as the Decca, IMO. Both are on vinyl.

Oooo, I would LOVE to have a copy of that!

Risabet - that's the Mobile Fidelity reissue right? That's the one I have. I saw a mint copy of it up at Barts in Boulder recently with a price of $150.00 on it. Apparently it's quite the collectors item.

No, this is the Decca 180g reissue and is available at the link below.

The Planets

Let me add that this is not a specifically audiophile recording. The performance is way to good for that;). This is an example of a recording with amazingly natural orchestral color and balance. Amazing in every respect!

Thanks Risa! I think I will have to pick that up then! Good info!
