Just curious if anyone is using Michi M8’s for their Martin Logan electrostats?
Yes, I seem to recall that too.I thought there is someone around here who has a Michi amp?
Yes, M8s and the Expressions 13A. It's a wonderful match. I describe it as the new neutral - clean, extended, not etched, very musical. One virtue is the ability to bring the dynamics in reproduced music closer to a real performance. All this with the non fatigue of hours on hours in the reclining chair. For full disclosure I'm with a dealership that represents many fine brands. I found the M8s able to wake up the Paradigm Persona 3F, a great fit with B&W .... The Michi's check all the boxes and bring life to the enjoyment of music. If you are in sunny South Florida please stop by - it's worth the time. I can hear a few voices in the background --- but compared to what ? A lot. So, in my personal collection at home -- VTL Wotans, PS Audio BHK 300s, Manley Labs Ref 500s, Cary Audio 211s, Krell KMA 400's, Wired 4 SoundSX-1000R, Peachtree GaN 400, Moscode 600.....So, even if you're not in the market for a new amp I would encourage you to let your ears and the magic of music come together.Just curious if anyone is using Michi M8’s for their Martin Logan electrostats?
Thanks. I have BHK 300’s and I was wondering if the M8 was a big upgrade. ThanksYes, M8s and the Expressions 13A. It's a wonderful match. I talked to the Michi Rep at Axpona. I specifically asked about the below 4 ohm warning. He said the amps will have no issue with ML speakers and the warning is for speakers that run under 4ohm 100% of the time.
Regardless I love the M8’s but I think I have a Gryphon in my future!Paul that rep gave you a strange answer, for name me one speaker that remains at it's nominal rating all the time.
Matter of interest - have you compared these/any others against the Brystn 4B-ST, SST or SST2 or Cubed? Quite keen to hear about those, and respective price-points.Yes, M8s and the Expressions 13A. It's a wonderful match. I describe it as the new neutral -
I cannot afford the M8 pair but am seriously considering the Michi X-5 integrated as an upgrade in power, I like intergrated amplifiers; one box solution BUT it has to have a good phono stage; very few integrated amplifiers have good phono stages.Yes, M8s and the Expressions 13A. Would you be kind enough to share with me what the rest of your system consists of & if the Michi X-5 would work with the 13A? I am especially interested in the phono stage; we have 1000+ albums that have been cleaned & are now in pristine condition; along with a Pro-ject RPM 10 Carbon ttYeah, it's considerable.
"The new Gryphon Diablo 333 integrated amplifier will go on sale in October 2023. The suggested retail price of the novelty is $24,900 . The optional Gryphon DAC -3 DAC module will cost an additional $7,000 , while the Gryphon PS -3 phono stage module is priced at $5,600 ."
