    Subwoofer connection.

I am now biamping my Sequel IIs, my preamp has two balanced main outs which I have hooked into the balanced inputs of each amplifier my problem is I used to have the second set of mains hooked up to my two Velodyne subs which have both line and speaker level connections. What would be the best...

    Sequel vs. Requests

I've had both Requests and Sequel IIs I bought a pair of Requests to replace my Sequel IIs only to find out I preferred the Sequels to my surprise, believe me I tried everything I could to make the Requests work out I finally gave up and sold them and kept my Sequels. I guess what I'm saying is...

Best value in a used $2000-$2500 CD player.

I'm looking for opinions on used CD players in the $2000-$2500 if you could tell me their attributes and how they compared to other players you may have had. I'm looking for a players that sound particularly good with MLs.

Are there better ML speakers than the Sequel?

I think the Sequels bass although there wasn't as much, is much tighter than the Requests also I liked the detail and soundstage of the Sequels better. You might consider new panels for you Sequels for $500.00 they'll probably make a huge difference also if you haven't done so yet use spikes...

Are there better ML speakers than the Sequel?

I have sequel IIs with newer panels that I run with a pair of velodyne subs I thought like you newer and bigger would equal better so I bought a nice pair of Requests only to find out I preferred the Sequels much better. I sold the Requests and kept the Sequels.

    Help with pre-amp!

My nomination for a good used preamp would be a Audible Illusions 2D it can be had for $400.00 hard to beat at that price. It's tubed (6922 types) and it also has a nice tubed phono section, it's fun and easy to tube roll with (2 tubes line, 2 tubes phono)

Charliemike finally decides on equipment ... but needs a rack

I've considered the VTL racks they look great and are priced reasonably but the spikes being in those little dimples scare me I could see somebody leaning up against it then having all my equipment fall into a heap.....does any one have experience with these racks if so how stable are they, also...

Sequel Twos sound like they are unplugged

Sounds like the panels may just be very dirty or the contacts may have oxidized. Try giving them a good cleaning and reseating all the contacts.

New to Martin Logans and 'Stats

I've got a pair of sequel II's with a couple of f series Velodyne subs and it sounds great, even with new stat panels for the sequels you'd come in at about your price.

Do Electrostatic Speakers Ever Quit Changing?

It seems like my system sounds different all the time just subtly, wether it's the stats, the tubes, the environment or just my frame of mind I couldn't tell you.

sequel II ... need amp help

I have owned Sequel II's for quite a while now and for me at least I wouldn't trade them for any other ML's I've heard. I purchased a set of Requests and sold them I preferred the Sequels, I just heard the Summits and wasn't that impressed. I think especially considering what you can pick up a...

Tube power to drive sequel II

I am using a Wadia 861 direct into the D400 now and the resolution and detail (also fantastically tight bass) is just amazing but I lost the midrange warmth I had with it running thru my ARC LS5 MKIII preamp (which in my opinion is a fantastic pre) I was hoping by going tube amp I could get the...

Tube power to drive sequel II

I am contemplating changing to a tube amp to run my Sequel IIs I am currently running a ARC D400 at 200 watts per. My question is what type of changes in sound should I expect from the change and how much power would be the minimum I need? (I like my listening on the loud side) My short list so...

    spikes- are there major differences?

I have had requests and have Sequell IIs which is what I actually prefer adding spikes them then setting a 25 lb weight carefully on the back of them seems to really solidify the base. Adding the weight seemed to make a difference give it a shot.

    Crappy recordings.

Very interesting stuff thanks for posting, have you tried any of these methods if so what were the results?

    Crappy recordings.

From what I was told the CD I heard was burned directly from the master tape and as I said the result was a very superior CD, does anybody know how many steps there are in making a CD you'd buy off a store shelf and the variances in equipment there can be in the making of it?

    Crappy recordings.

If that were totally true why is it I heard the exact same music on other discs and it didn't sound anywhere near as good? There has to be a weak link between the master recording and what is put on the store shelf.
