    MartinLogans to Rockports?

Well, since all are opinions, a good starting point will be to listen to the WE, Yamamura, or Bionor before making one to get a different perspective. The others can be heard very easily, and are very similar, an effort needs to be made to listen to these.

All I am saying is don't rule out demoing them. It is good to challenge ones perspective. Just like you moved from panels to boxes, Joey, you won't know until you hear these. We will be able to make a call of different strokes for different folks only if all folks made their decisions after...

    MartinLogans to Rockports?

Some perspective guys: 1. Do think about why the owner of Hyundai, a multi-billionaire who can buy any of the above systems for his Kitchen system, chooses the WE, and spends a 100k to fly them over to Munich so people can listen to them. And why do people travel to listen to those, and those...

    MartinLogans to Rockports?

I am not commenting on how good Neolith is compared to Arrakis, but comparing a 10k martin Logan to it to opine doesn't make sense. The Aviors with 100k tenor audio amps and total dac's top of the range in a highly treated room were no match for a newbie's Summit set up with AR.Ref 3, Ref 110...

Oh really? How far are you from Vegas Airport and Cedar City. You should go visit ddk. I haven't heard Lavigne's. But have heard from people who have heard his. Thing is it is a system with lot of expensive components thrown in. Marty's is a system with smart stuff, normal stuff, principles of...

Accuphase M-60 Power Amps from 1975.

IMHO too, though I have never heard the accuphase. Even the MBL class D amp, which is a good class D amp, was no match for Ypsilon integrated or of course their own class A. In the dealer's honest opinion too, "this is a good class D amp, but it is a class D amp". They measure well though.

    MartinLogans to Rockports?

Good tip, GG. Mike lavigne's new favorite toy is the GG - as in the lampi golden gate :). Probably the only thing in hifi that will be common between guys like him and audiocrack on one side and me on the other. That said, I wouldn't recommend Mike's place for a visit for another reason: his...

Do you think the room looks 'natural'

There wasn't anything devious about your question

    MartinLogans to Rockports?

Ron, I believe you heard the Neoliths at a show, while the Arrakis was well set up at the designer's place. Maybe listen to Neolith at Gary's? Also, you meantioned 'realism' - are you trying to start another 40 page thread here? ;) For those who don't know, Ron innocently asked on WBF what is...

Vox Olympian system will be that cost, and a much cheaper western electric could possibly walk over both. Haven't heard the Arrakis, but the WE did walk over vox and magico ultimate ( 600k for speakers alone). And did hear the Altair ii with absolare though all were at the same show

    MartinLogans to Rockports?

Some perspective. The Arrakis Ron heard retails at 165k! And he had TTs and electronics to go with that, Transparent Opus cabling. He used to own Prodigys and is looking at Neoliths. I heard the Avior here, in a completely SMT filled room, with Tenor 350 amps ($100k retail), and Total dac 12...

I heard the Aviors recently, but Ron is referring to the Arrakis which he heard a couple of days ago. Which Rockports are you referring to?

Summit X or Focal Maestro Utopia?

Harman's research is posted every day on WBF by Amir, Ken. And then others summarily take it apart. Me, I just travel and audition.

Ken, you should just look at their frequency curve to see if you like it - no need to visit Justin, Keith (purite audio) actually bought the kii speakers without listening to them because he read they were the best measuring speakers

They sound great in a 30 sq m. room as well. Planning to listen to them next weekend with airtight and audio note. Henk couldn't make the apogee grands dem tomorrow, now I can't till Jan

Summit X or Focal Maestro Utopia?

The old one had a Krell FPB 600, the new one had those Bel Canto monos 1000w. Not a fan of BC but the signature sound across both was the same, which is what put me off. I can go to listen to a modded A1 Px with AR Reference but not at top of want to hear list right now. Might do that next...

Summit X or Focal Maestro Utopia?

I heard the new Ultimate series, and an old A1. I heard a signature sound that I was not impressed with. 1, the sound is too large to be natural. The bass though it goes low, due to lack of cabinet excursion sounds not right to me. Maybe they sound right in an auditorium size room, not sure. I...

Summit X or Focal Maestro Utopia?

The electronics were SOTA and I heard them in multiple set ups. I am now focusing on auditioning MBLs and Vivid giyas. The Giya is a good speaker but seems tough for most rooms. Will see if I get a DSPed audition. The MBLs are very good but I have to confirm something on tonality. I have so far...

Sorry I should specify it's the Kronos that was at Munich (the smaller model)
