A House of Blues (lights at least)

Thanks Joey! Look forward to Cherian's coaching or whatever. Coolcobramatt: The plasma is a 55" Hitachi Director Series which I would love to have the equivilant down stairs in my home office. Johnfo: Again without your help I would still be tweaking and I still plan on at least trying...

A House of Blues (lights at least)

thank you eknuds and once again I have to agree Mototoad that the set has to be high on the replacement scale. However, the standard def channels are not bad (Comcast with Microsoft SW in the STB). The weight is nuts for sure but it can't be 300 lbs as I lifted it myself and if it was that...

A House of Blues (lights at least)

LOL that is right on the money my friend and I had actually delayed sending this out as that tube is really an eye sore accept for when its on. I had plans to put a 55 inch plasma for that wall but that was before all the reciepts for the equipment started coming in. My wife is great about...

A House of Blues (lights at least)

Thank you for the kind words and the offer to listen first hand is genuine and holds for any member of this forum if they want to make a trek up North. The Monoliths seem to need a little more attention and tuning but aside from the Statements which are a pipe dream, unless I want to bring on...

A House of Blues (lights at least)

Happy to host and meet some like minded souls who all seem to have more hands on knowlege about the inner workings of this audio fixation we all have. I know what sounds good to me and can follow directions if they are real clear (preferably in crayon) but that is about the exstent of it. To...

A House of Blues (lights at least)

Now that I have it all dialed in with the aid of the esteemed Monolith mentor, JohnFo, I thought I would share the new (to me anyway) addition to the ML and audio collection. The HT set up remains intact but I have added a dedicated 2 channel system for my “man cave” slash home office. I...

    Scotch

I go for the lighter smoother options like the Macallen and Glen Roths. Current stock below but I also have JB and JW for blends. Nothing like a nice Whiskey to complement a good peice of music.

    Kudos to Martin Logan staff

echoing the sentiments of others who could not come (I was in Mumbai) we clearly missed out. However, could you share the feedback on some of the whys in their decisions? Not to spark a big debate but I think I share you view that size matters and I am assuming that was the context of your...

Q1: amp that does not like bellow 2 ohm impedance Q2: LF driver of the Monolith III

I was going to suggest the same thing as Kruppy as JonFo has instructions on the site on how to replace the drivers and has helped me dial in more bass from my Monolith III's with the same active XO as you. He really is the source.

New tubes for Tube Box II

I can not comment on the Tube Box II but I can add to the recomondation of Echo as they were fantanstic in my recent Monolith transaction with them.

    Power and the Sequel II's

I own a pair of the older Sequel's (still love them) and the panels do not shut off. What I have done is run them into a power strip and the power strip into my power conditioner on the switch outlet so the panels shut down when not in use.

Monolith Bass - how to get it

Thanks for your continued patience and help and as even I am growing tired of my questions. I now have both #8 switches on and everything else is off. Do I have that right or should I only have one of those on? I am using the Genesis SACD CDs you had mentioned and they seem to be the least...

Monolith Bass - how to get it

Update . . . . I did some reading and found that I need to be careful which dip switches I turn off and on. I was assuming the more you set to on the deeper the bass but it would apear that if I read correctly that the correct setting would be to turn off everything on the left side of the...

Monolith Bass - how to get it

Well I am back and just tried the lazy mans approach so far with just checking the phasing on the speakers. No appreciable changes flipping them as it turns out and the only thing that seemed backward was the left panel and they are so awsome I did not even notice that might not be perfect...

Monolith Bass - how to get it

I will try that for sure but I am away from the house for a day or two (have to earn a few dollars) and the interconnects are not long enough to manuver the xover without pulling the connections out. I will have to go the hard route of moving stuff anyway to get to it properly. Sorry to leave...

Monolith Bass - how to get it

Hi Folks, this is a continuation of what up to this point had been a series of private exchanges with another Monolith owner. We initially were triaging some wiring and hook-up challenges on a set of Monolith IIIx with the EXOS active external plus three amps (two mono and one stereo)...

    Sorry to SAY

I will definately post my impressions and a few pictures when all the gear shows up as I am excited to get back to a 2 channel set up. I am going to keep the HT config (the one posted) the same but the new gear should get attention from the near by islands. Audiophileman: Can you tell me what...
