Need help finding a COOL AV rack

I have two sets of these (never used) Adona racks which I paid about $825 for each. Don't have the boxes as I was doing exactly what you are thinking of for my 2 channel set up but the wife saw them and said they go to storage and made me buy "real furniture". If you pass the spouse factor, I...

    Random Picture and Video Thread

I know a friend of his (who I had thought to the pictures orginally) but they are amazing for people in this part of the world as we ride these things all the time in all kinds of weather and I have never seen anything like it here. Loved his caption about not seeing any cars in the last...

OMG--I have a pair of these babies in my HT set up but all I can say is WOW. Awsome system!

    Sunday Morning Music

I don't have the reference point but I will check it out. More comparisons to Evenessance and Within Temptation (also very good) but I would put them closer to Nightwish all of which remain pretty obsure outside of Europe and maybe a bit to heavy for most. They have a bit of SymphonyX in them...

    Sunday Morning Music

Most of what I have seen on this thread is true Sunday relaxation music and I have picked up a few good recordings based on it but if you want to step out of the box a bit, you should give a test listen to Epica. Divine Conspiracy is the latest release but they have about four strong CDs in...

Front Wall Diffusion vs. Absorption - A Case Study

I am going to check with RT's to see if they have a return policy and if so will probably try the difusor and HT absorbtion products in my room to really make sure whats right for my particular room dynamics. I placed so form mats that my wife had lying around to use uder our sleeping bags when...

Front Wall Diffusion vs. Absorption - A Case Study

Great write up and timely for me as after a great deal of procrastination, I have finally started the process of taming the acoustics of my 2 channel room. I just purchased a stand for my sub and some bass traps for GIK and was debating on the array of diffusion products but leaning toward the...

Monolith refresh - Panels, woofers and rail stain updates

Man there is always something but each step does bring additional satisfaction you don't know you were missing until you have it. Do you endorce these EQ's in additon to the Driverack or instead of? Glad to hear I don't need to move everything again to get to the switches as I am very content...

System #45 (Monolith IIIx, SL3XC, Sequel II)

Wow is what comes to mind for me as well and seeing Jon's set up live and acutally understanding the tweaks he has patiently tried to explain would be huge. If you expand the SW listening to people willing to make the pilgramage, I would try as this set up (and Jon's knowlege) is as intriging...

I live in Washington State but have an office in the Bay Area (Mt. View) and would gladly stay over or take some time out to connect live with some of you folks.

Monolith refresh - Panels, woofers and rail stain updates

Sorry to do a semi hi-jack of the thread but it looks like you guys are close to alignment here and we all (those of us considering replacement kit) benefited from the exchange. I wanted to bow to the Monolith master again to let him know I finally pulled the trigger on a sub (a REL sub with...

    ReQuests and room size

I get the you can never have enough horse power analogy and have found the ML's to be an incredibly versitle speaker in almost every enviorment. I currently have a pair of Sequel's in a rather large room as part of my HT system and a pair of Monolith III's in a smaller room not to far off from...

    Treat me right--please

Problem solved! I will go with the treatments Jonfo suggested after consulting with the SME who sells them as also suggested and get a couple of cases of vino or connect this issue with the Scotch thread. I actually have some secondary wine storage in the electronics room where my Sequel's...

    Treat me right--please

Thank you Kevin and Richard. To answer Kevin's question the Monolith's are powered by 2 McIntosh 501 Mono blocks for the panels and a 200 watt 2205 McIntosh stereo amp for the bass drivers. The best idea I have heard so far was the wine theroy but I can safely do treatments behind the speakers...

    Treat me right--please

Thanks Jon this will save me a lot of time but which one or combination? I assume the Mondo (how fitting) but do I need corner traps as well? Lots of options but hopefully it is just behind the speakers mounted on the wall which would be more wife friendly. Big corner traps might be a little...

    Treat me right--please

Wow--thank you everyone. I certainly have my home work and a good project to work on. Sage advice all around and I will embrace it but the one consistant thing (in the non-treated mode) I have inconsistancy with is pulling the speakers out further into the room. I did that a few times now and...

    Treat me right--please

I know corny but it was suggested that I might get some help on room treatments. The room is pretty small for the Monoliths at 14' ft. wide by 20.6 ft long. The first picture is of the back wall (sorry for how dark it is but shooting into the sun). The second picture is of the left wall as...

A House of Blues (lights at least)

Wonderfully insane! I am actually thinking of using the Adona Racks below as I bought two but my wife did not like them. She has softened a bit and although I don't look forward to moving all the kit, it is time to work on the room treatments. Suggestions welcome.
