help- Preamp to match Rotel RB 980BX?

You will never hear your Aerius speakers at their best if you only have 100 bucks... Better to buy a CD-player with variable output (2nd hand Marantz CD-17 for example) and drive the amp directly.

    Wiring my new Aeon i

Nordost works very well with MartinLogan. Especially Blue Heaven.

    Turntable?

I prefer Michell... ;) The Tecnodec can be had for under $1500 and will beat Rega turntables in the same price range. Rega tends to sound a little 'safe', the Tecnodec is very neutral, transparant and has great timing. You could also try Pro-Ject, that always has an upbeat sound with some...

    Joining the fold

Steve, be prepared to upgrade ALL your equipment in due time... The Ascents show up any deficiencies in the rest of your system...

    a post/bridge question

I always have had better results with the cables on the panel and short loudspeaker cable links to the bass. Throw away the links!

    ML Subs and EQ

By the way, I think SVS subwoofers are the BEST for Home Theater, but I find them a bit lacking (although still very good!) with music. I once had the SVS CS-Ultra with Bryston amp.

    ML Subs and EQ

An Auralex Subdude/Gramma would be the perfect product for you, effectively isolating the sub completely from the floor. It will also greatly improve the definition and transparancy of the bass frequencies! Link: http://www.auralexelite.com/sound_isolation_subdude/sound_isolation_subdude.asp

    ML Subs and EQ

Actually, using eq to solve nulls is not very practical... Boosting the null frequency by using heavy eq on the subwoofer will have little effect, the null will be like a 'black hole', soaking up all amp power. The net effect is that the amplifier will clip easily. Using eq to solve peaks at...

    budget amp for scenarios?

The 308 is definitely very good, warmer sounding than the A5, which is pretty neutral for a MusFid.

Would you sit an Amplifier like this???

You also might use the Bryston PowerPacs. They mount with screws to the back of a speaker. They sound good too!

    Feet/Spike Tweaks

If you don't want to damage your laminate or wooden floor, try the Soundcare Superspikes. They have a feet built onder the spike and work a treat with MLs! http://www.audiophilia.com/hardware/ma10.htm

    Integrated Amp 4 summit

The CPM 2600 is a great amp! I use Chord SPM 1200E and SPM 1900 with my Martin Logans to extremely good effect!

New Summits - need more amp power?

I would even vouch for a more subtle amp instead of a more powerful one. Although I think the Lexicon processors are brilliant in every way, I think the amps (made by Crown) are very rugged and neutral, but not the last word in refinement. Don't bridge, it degrades sound quality in many cases.

DSP Based EQ System for 200Hz on down for ANY SUB...

Sorry for the late reply... The difference between an eq-ed sub and a non-eq-ed one can be STAGGERING! Unless you have the perfect spot and a perfect graph without it of course, which I do have experienced installing different DD's, but it is extremely rare...

    budget amp for scenarios?

Musical Fidelity would be a good match with the Scenario. For example the A5, great amp.

    Sloped front wall

I don't think it will be much of a problem. You might want to dampen the sloped wall a bit (with Auralex panels for example: http://www.auralex.com), or use a rug in front of the speaker, to absorb the reflected sound waves coming from the sloped wall.

    Logos Center Channel

I find the performance of the Logos lies between the Cinema and Theater. The Logos sound a bit 'thicker', with less treble than the Cinema and Theater. The Logos has very good dispersion, the Theater even better. The Cinema has a weird dispersion, due to its concave panel. I was always aware of...
