Yolo. Do it.

Yeah, those Statements are incredible I bet, but at $25,000 each that's out of my price point. We do have a member here that has 3 of those up front. I'd love to hear that! That's a great point Robert, the comment about 'movies only' went over my head.
The Statement would be my first choice for a theater, no question about it. And if money was not a problem, I'd use them for all bed channels. Room size almost doesn't matter, but you do need walls. They are great speakers!
And, . . .
You could get them with the surface mount boxes and use them now, then, when you move they'd be easy to unmount and take with.
While I appreciate the suggestion, I am not the type that agrees with that statement. I mean that with a lot of respect! But no cone driver will ever do for me what I have come to love about stats...and thats without me ever having a REALLY correct setup! Just imagine how much I will like them when I can give them exactly what they need to shineIf youre using it as a theater only, then you may want to consider traditional speakers like ML in-walls. Three of these up front in your new place would sound great.

Youd have money left over to put in surrounds and atmos speakers in the ceiling too, instead of spending $29k on a pair of speakers. Many of the guys here that know home theater well say that a traditional cone speaker is better for home theater. Personally, I use a set of Prodigy speakers for my fronts, a focus center, 4 surround in-walls, and then 4 more ceiling atmos speakers. I use my current setup for 2 channel music as well as home theater.
When we finally build another home I plan on having a dedicated home theater, and if I dont use that for music I would go with those ML in-walls for my front left and right channels as well as center.
Lol thats positive encouragement but I dont want to side too much with you. I really appreciate all the thoughts hereYolo. Do it.

The type of soundstage a well-set-up ESL can deliver is indeed amazing, and I've yet to hear a cone-based speaker even come close. But no cone driver will ever do for me what I have come to love about stats...and thats without me ever having a REALLY correct setup!
Hahaha! I’m not sure but he works for a huge company that does TV walls at the casinos and the like. So expensive ladders??? Lol.Love the story! Ask your buddy if he wants to come gimme a hand lol.
By the way, what kind of ladder supports 300lbs+++ an 80" TV??
At this point, I'm thinking I'll have one room for music and another for theater. Some of those awesome ML in walls behind a screen will be the best choice I think. I'd like to see recent pictures from our member that just built an incredible home theater using the Statements. The type of soundstage a well-set-up ESL can deliver is indeed amazing, and I've yet to hear a cone-based speaker even come close.
But for primarily HT, there is a ton of work to do regarding room acoustics to get them to perform, so whether you stick to the Montis, upgrade to 11a or the 15, treating the front of the room is going to be critical to your results.
For immersive multichannel music or movies, one wants the primary sound to arrive from the front of the panels with very little (to none) reflected energy of the walls / ceiling / floor. Every bit of unwanted room reflections reduces the soundstage focus.
This means the front wall and the forward side walls up to, and a bit beyond the panels will be covered in absorption to reduce the comb-filtering and the bass cancelation from the dipole. Since you indicate the room is open on either side, you'll mostly be treating the front wall.
The back wall will need similar treatment, as I'm guessing the MLP will be <5' from the back wall in a room of those dimensions.
You seem to really want to upgrade to newer ML's, so I'll suggest you'll be better off with the 11A and heavily invest in room acoustic treatments.
