Understood Mark, but it reality after only 60 days in office did anyone really expect him to ram a new health care plan down our throats ? Granted and even I suspect the far left wacko libs aren't stupid enough to think Obama Care is 'the' best solution (not sure there is a 'best' actually) can only hope for a more thought out offering / reform down the road.

Oh, before all the goofy lefties get themselves all 'pumped up' over this remember........... if you had put a better candidate that the loser you did, we wouldn't be going through this crap !

Goofy lefties....hmmm

Can someone be "not right" or "not trump" and not be a goofy lefty?

I see myself as a goofy non-aligned :)

This wasn't Trump's plan. It was Ryan's, and he's had seven years, not sixty days, to come up with a viable alternative. If the republicans were interested in governing instead of posturing, they would have worked with the democrats to come up with a viable plan a long time ago.

And any intelligent liberal knows the best plan is a single-payer universal health care system, like just about every other developed nation in the world uses (and, consequently, like Hillary tried to get passed when Bill was President). It's laughable how republicans decry that as evil socialism while ignoring that their own leader is pandering to (and probably colluding with) Vladimir Putin. Will the ironies never cease.

Rich, I would change your first few words to, "...any intelligent person should know.."

Looking at it as a Canadian, I find it incredible that you guys don't have a single-payer system. Admittedly, we sometimes have to wait a while for some procedures, but they do get done. Ten years ago I got extremely sick and almost died. I needed multiple visits to doctors, specialists, and hospitals, and it cost me nothing. If I had had to pay for it myself, I would today be ashes fertilizing a lawn somewhere. Had I been a horse, they would have shot me! :)

Maybe I am naiive, or have been reading the wrong media (or have been "tapping" into fake news), but didn't Hillary develop a reputation for working with both sides of the aisle?

The Republicans have had 7 years to come up with a better plan.

Trump promised better insurance that cost less for everyone and said he would have it in quick.

The plan presented would cut many people off and would have cost those that need help the most. In fact 59% of his supporters would get the short end of the stick.

Everything he is doing will help big business, but nothing he is doing will help the middle class he "claimed" to be representing.

A billionaire name Mercer, funded muckrackers and Breitbart "news" to the tune of many millions, and contributed heavily to the Trump campaign. He weaponized what his muckrackers found with the worst possible interpretation of everything. He hates the Clintons and put his muscle behind taking her down. He got his daughter Rebecca on the Trump team and through her pushed for Bannon, Sessions and Flynn to be put in place.

Mercer has Trump's ear in a big way and Mercer believes that a person's value is directly tied to their wealth. Mercer also believes in conspiracy theories, thinks we would be fine after a nuclear war and some radiation is healthy for us.

As far as Obamacare and waiting for it to fail. The GOP passed a rule that made participating in Obamacare much riskier. This is the main reason that insurance companies are pulling out. That sabotaged the ACA to set it up for failure. There "was" a provision that helped with risk while the ACA got to critical mass where it could be sustained. What they did was knock the feet out from under it before it got there.

Thanks Mark for the info on the Mercer family.

Very scary stuff.

Makes sense.

Mercer has VERY directly pushed the "Alternate Facts" agenda. He is VERY tech savvy and a genius of sorts which when combined with being a billionaire and a little off the deep end is a very dangerous combination.

He has helped to brain wash a significant percentage of voters.

A while back I made the comment that we are not driving the bus and we aren't. People like Mercer are.

Historically billionaires would make contributions and push buttons behind the scenes. Now Trump has a whole cabinet of billionaires and they are not looking out for the common man. The common man is basically screwed. All Trump is doing is trashing our countries regulatory bodies to make it easier for large corporations to rape and pillage the environment and take advantage of the labor class.

So Mark it sounds as if this Mercer cat is as dangerous (or perhaps more so) than that nut job Bloomberg ....

It's funny because they are such extreme opposites.

Bloomberg is actually trying to help people, and despite many people hating the idea of banning sugared soft drinks over a certain size. He was actually trying to look out for people's health with a rising onset of diabetes and other health concerns related to sugar intake. So at least his heart was in the right place.

If stuff like that seems evil to you, you won't have to worry about Mercer going down that road. He couldn't give a flip.

LOL Mark, you obviously don't know all there is to know about 'Mikey'. He's as anti-gun as it gets and regardless of where you stand on the subject a lot of his rhetoric is propaganda / fear monger based. I'd love to pour a bottle of Pepsi down his throat !

And is he trying to make things safer for people, or just out for himself?

I'm not remotely asking if you agree with him, but he does give a **** about people.

Mercer does not give a **** about people.

Dave,

Of course he is given the fact that he was mayor of one of the largest urban centers in the world where guns are often used by gangs to kill people, perform robberies, etc. Witness what's happening in Chicago.

Guns in cities and guns in rural areas (and positions / feelings thereof) are on opposite sides of the planet.

I strongly suspect that many mayors in large urban areas fall on the side of anti-gun.

perhaps........at least about people who think and support his ideology. Regardless, I did state that Mercer was probably more dangerous FWIW .......

Mercer does not give a **** about people.

Based on the interview I read that occurred on the NPR Terry Gross "Fresh Air" program, his care (and the value he places on people) is commensurate with how wealthy one is.
