I too have dealt with the plasma screen, when I had one, affecting the sound. Similar to RCHeliGuy, I chose to position the screen in about the same plane as the stat panels, but also found that absorptive panels against the wall helped further. Then I moved the plasma back to against the wall, moved the stat panels farther apart which helped with being able to absorb the front wall reflections from the proper locations, and this was my best attempt under these conditions. FWIW, many months went by whilst trying these scenarios. I was happy each time, until I found an improvement. Then I was happier with the improvement.
Then I got a projector. Still need the absorptive panels adjacent to the screen but the soundstage is fantastic and, apparently, unbreakable!
