I am currently using a Panamax MD2-RCA for surge protection for my Descent i, which is on its own 20amp dedicated circuit. I don't believe that this surge protector is high current, so is it potentially starving the Descent during bass-heavy moments in music/movies? Here are the stats:
AC Power
Voltage Protection Rating (UL 1449 3rd Edition, 3,000A) L-N 400V, L-G 500V, N-G 400V
Thermal Fusing Yes
Single Pulse Energy Dissipation 1350 Joules
Response Time <1 ns
Protection Modes L-N, L-G, N-G
Protect or Disconnect™ Circuitry Yes
Peak Impulse Current 60,000 A
Nominal Discharge Current 3,000 A
Maximum Current Rating 15A (1800 W)
Line Voltage 120 VAC, 50/60 Hz
Initial Clamping Level 200V
EMI/RFI Noise Filtration 50 dB (100 kHz - 1 MHz)
Catastrophic Surge Circuit Yes
