Surge Protection for Descent i

I am currently using a Panamax MD2-RCA for surge protection for my Descent i, which is on its own 20amp dedicated circuit. I don't believe that this surge protector is high current, so is it potentially starving the Descent during bass-heavy moments in music/movies? Here are the stats:

If it can handle a 3,000 Amp surge, I don't think it will restrict your amplifier's current.

The best surge protection is "whole house surge protection" placed near the AC power service entrance. The point of use protectors do have some negative features, but now most homes have a dozen or more point of use protectors making this a moot point. Most protectors work by using voltage sensitive switches (MOV's) that switch on in overly high voltage conditions. The very expensive series mode protectors (SurgeX) have a different operating principle.
