The footers (bottom part) are $550/3, plus $150 for the 3-pack of stainless cups (top part). $700/3= $233 per spike. Multiply by 8 = $1870.

Any way you slice it, this is some fancy footware. Nice though.

Guys, I'm in the wrong business. I sure like them- alot. But as the debate goes, which goes also applies to hi-end speaker wire, there is no way I paying that much.

They would probably sell you a set of eight rather then 3 sets of three, price would be a little less for just eight.

But Yes I know, the point is they are expensive.
I would be surprised if they sold you a set of Eight. It reminds me of buying an eight pack of Hot-dogs, but you have to buy two, six packs of buns.

So that is why I am always short a couple of buns! I thought I was somehow losing them like you do socks! And to think I was contemplating a marriage proposal with the thought in the back of my mind that she could hold my buns for me. Oh wait, that had nothing to do with "Hot Dogs"! Well, sort of nothing to do with them. Am I moving us "Off Topic" again? LOL :D

Mark,
Does that make you a horn dog?

Jeff

Can I plead the filth on the grounds that I might incinerate myself with my answer?

Just buy Soundcare Superspikes! Cheap and very effective. They use a fixed cup under the spike.

$2 Temporary Solution

As I contemplate all my options, I came up with a $2 "temporary solution". This was after reading all your responses, thanks again! Apply Furniture Felt to a quarter(s), a small dab of clear silicone in the middle of the opposite side of the quarter(s) to help secure the spikes (this helps keep them in place while adjusting speakers). Then just place the speaker spikes into that little dab of silicone and your done.
You can purchase heavy duty Furniture Felt that fits the size of a quarter. Stick the furniture felt directly on the spikes (it will stick), then tilt the speaker onto the ground "very gently". Lastly, one at a time, swap your new spike protecters or whatever you want to call them. Now you can adjust your speakers with spikes on wood floors, temporarly ofcourse...

I have tried a coin and this works well, but I think by far the best option would be to place the speakers on marble or granite. This has extremely good isolation properties in itself and you can place felt on the other side so that you can slide the speakers around should you desire (just make sure there is not sand or grit on the floor or that will scratch it)!

I'm sure you can also buy specialist "cups" for the spikes to sit in.

Spiking is essential though, so make sure you go ahead with one of these options!

Hi OU812HU?

You can try SoundAnchors CONECOASTERS

I've bought them for all my ML including my rack.
The movememnt is very good and the sound is also satisfactory in my opinion.

Another suggestion is the Symposium platform.
I replaced some of the CONECOASTERS to Ultra platform since we have earthquakes here in Taiwan and the platform is a lot safer
