Hi Joey,

Hope all is well and you are enjoying life.

To me, it seems pretty obvious. Marketing "new and improved" and making money off of it.

It also keeps the Wilson product available and easily attainable on Audiogon.

An interesting move by Wilson. How does the market support a speaker of this price range? I bet it sounds good though.

I just dont know how coming out with a more expensive speaker than the WP8 can be a smart thing in this economy...

Hey Joey,

A lot of guys who buy this stuff are older (40+) and well off. There is no doubt the economy has hurt sales, but it's not the end of the world for people with passion for the hobby. Sure the economy is bad, but even with 12% unemployment, there is still 88% employment. Bonuses are a lot less, but the cash is still coming in the door. Sure the market has crashed 40-50%, but if you have had your interest compounding for years, you have done pretty well in the market. Many guys who buy this speaker trade off other things. Instead of a $70K Beamer, you buy a $35K lexus and a $35K speaker or postpone remodelling your kitchen.

However, it seems Wilson needed to make this move as they were probably not selling many Watt Puppies with Magicos, YGs, etc., in that price range that sound pretty damn good.
