I currently have 2 Odysseys for front sides, one Cinema center, and 4 Theater speakers for my home entertainment room. Yes, I set this all up 18 years ago. There were reasons for using the Theater speakers instead of customary side and rear surrounds based on wall issues. I also have a subwoofer as well as one enormous amp and one smaller amp to run the surrounds. We are moving within a month or two to a vastly different space. Whereas I have a cathedral ceiling now, I will have a huge room with a ceiling that is at least 20 feet in height in the new place. There is no possibility of rear speakers because of the rear wall is glass and is 35 feet from the wall on which the Sony OLED 65" TV will be mounted with the front speakers alongside (actually, they are a bit too bit for the space). The room is filled with both windows and clerestory windows on one side. There are side walls - the room is 16 feet wide, but the actual theater/music seating area for films is about 14' x 14'. However, of course, I want the sound to fill the room.
Obviously, I cannot use the 4 Theater speakers. I've tried to study the Martin Logan products page, but don't see anything that looks logical. Given that the new place has concrete exterior walls, this raises an issue with mounting one of the sides or, heaven forbid, the ceiling. We have loved our current set up and are sold on electrostatic sound reproduction. However, I am stumped as to what to get for the best sound without bankrupting us. I don't want to go into audio places here in Houston without some idea of what might work/sound great. Can anybody offer some suggestions?
Regards,
Leslie
