I won't name any names, but one way I know that works is to first create a skunk works, black ops, slush fund account.
Then when you get enough money put aside, get the CLXs, and just tell her that you are keeping them until a friend's divorce is final.....but that could take a long while.
After a year if she asks, just tell her that you got them in the settlement, the ex didn't want such big overwhelmingly powerful speakers in her new home
The above underlined will be the beginning of mistrust in the marriage. Not a sound idea. It may have been a joke, but terrible suggestion nonetheless. Not trying to be the jerk here. Just think there other more reasonable (and truthful) ways to speak to our wives about audio gear. To the OP, good luck in your pursuits.
