Passage system - amp/receiver?

My issue started when we brought a movie we started watching downstairs, to upstairs...and I hated the sound...absolutely hated it.

I had a lot of thoughts on what to get...in-wall? on-wall? Magnepan?
Finally settled on the pic below......(WAF TBD)....

My question?
Struggling with how to power it. Right now it's running off of my Audiosource AMP100 which is normally for outside party duty, but it's winter.

I tentatively purchased an HK 3490. Reviews were great, but I'm wondering if I should return it and instead go for seperates..aka Audiosource 7t + cheap preamp.

Any thoughts?

I got passage as surround speakers (Vantage front).
I use an old (vantage) cheap low power kenwood receiver to drive them (The passage) for now it' ok, but eventually I would like to add some serious amp.
