The test environment was the same for each cable. But I'll grant you that big variable with the ear > brain interface.

Absolutely! People go on about tiny differences with stupid little tweaks, but forget probably the biggest variable here is (in ascending order) the room itself, and the ear/brain interface!

Look, I don't want to impugn anyone. We've all got systems here that most "normal" people would laugh at and happily call "snake oil" - but each and everyone of our systems sounds tangibly better than any "normal person's" system.

So while our industry is full of snake oil, it's also full of genuine engineering.

Separating the two is sometimes very hard.

I think that's far more relevant with our audio systems.

We know and can define precisely what we are putting in to our systems.

As end consumers, the only thing we can do is attempt to make what comes out closer to what we put in. For that, we have every tool we need.
