Hi!, I have been an owner of Martin Logan(Theos) for 6 years now, using them mainly for home theater purposes, more recently I'm been doing more stereo music connected to a Parasound A21, lately when testing the speakers more critically, in one I can hear more volume or presence at the high part of the panel and the bottom(Sub) and on the other one I heard it quitter and more volume on the low part of the panel and the sub.

I tried different amps, left to right channel changes, cables, and I'm getting the same result so definitely are the speakers.

I have never done any maintenance, any idea or suggestion to start?

Thanks!

Paco

Hola Roberto and Brad225!, thanks for your comments, I'm happy to be part of the forum, there is much to learn, I will put in action Roberto advice about washing the speakers to bring this pair back.

Thanks!

You can also try vacuuming first. That helps some too.
Vacuum helps, in my experience, for odd noises. The problem here is bias voltage to the diaphragm. If you see how the bias voltage is accomplished to the diaphragm, then you do need the washing procedure. Vacuum is for dust. Water is to wash the dust at left side and right side of the stat panel, where the voltage carrier copper strip is located at the diaphragm, for a better contact. These strips are at the front of the panel. The rear panel do not have any copper strips.

Happy listening!

HI, I started with the vacuum process and there was an improvement on one speaker, I will try the washing procedure this weekend, I already got the instructions on how to dismantle this particular model.

Thanks!

Paco
